April 21 — “Religion, Faith and the Media”
Session 2 with John Longhurst: Is the media anti-religion? You might think so considering that the Winnipeg Free Press is the only daily media outlet in the country with a faith page and a religion beat held by John Longhurst. The lack of religion coverage is troubling, but understandable — as John will explain when he talks about faith and the media in Canada and his Religion in the News project at the Free Press.
April 28 — No Adult Ed. (Potluck Lunch)
May 5 — “Loving Our Hindu Neighbours”
Session 3: Our presenters will describe, in broad strokes, what it means to be Hindu. Pundit Jigar Goswami will share the basic tenets of Hinduism, and Ganga and Manju will represent some of the variations that exist within the way of life that is Hindu, drawing on their own backgrounds and experiences.
