Shepherd books

Three books about shepherds will be referred to in the worship service this morning. All are available for check out in the Bethel Library. The Shepherd’s Life, by James Rebanks, traces the traditional life of generations of the author’s sheep farming family in England’s scenic Lake District. The Shepherd’s Granddaughter, by Anne Carter, is a large print fiction book that tells the story of a young Palestinian girl named Amani who makes friends with an Israeli boy her age while tending her family’s sheep. Shepherd’s Sight is written by Barbara McLean, who has managed a sheep farm in rural Ontario for the last five decades. She takes readers month by month through life on her farm.
