June 16 Worship Focus

This week we explore a summer spirituality that is rooted in physical activity and play. The warm weather of the summer months is an invitation to get out and get active. To walk, bike, run, swim, play games and participate in sports. Can we imagine cycling as a spiritual practice? What about throwing a Frisbee or playing golf or even dancing?? Christian faith is unwaveringly embodied, revealed most profoundly in the incarnation of Jesus who moved, laughed and played as a human being like any of us. Jesus said that the kingdom of God belongs to the young ones among us who know best how to play! How might we meet God this summer as we move our bodies and have fun?
